The Essence of Leadership: CHS at the Summit

Cornell Hotel Society chapter leaders from Nairobi, Stockholm, Toronto, Seattle, Sydney,  New Delhi, and many more points on the globe came together August 15–17, 2008 for the third CHS Leadership Summit, a once-in-five-years opportunity to learn and share best practices for maintaining a vibrant chapter organization.

First Teng Teaching Excellence Awards Presented

The Hotel School recently honored a slate of seven faculty members with the first Ted Teng '79 Dean's Teaching Excellence Awards. Teng, the newly appointed president and chief executive officer of the Leading Hotels of the World, Ltd., established the seven annual, $5,000 awards to honor seven current or former members of the Hotel School faculty who have influenced the course of his highly successful career. Over the next five years, his gift will enable the School to recognize and reward teaching excellence in the many forms it takes.

Eye on Sustainability

"Sustainability in the Hospitality Industry" was the focus of the Dean's Leadership Series in Washington, D.C. Seven academic and industry experts participated in a 90-minute panel discussion, moderated by Cornell Hotel School Dean Michael Johnson. .
